Kinney Karate Rules & Regulations
- Always keep uniform looking presentable, straightened an with the belt wrapped twice and tied in a square knot.
- Never let your belt touch the floor.
- Never raise your voice in the studio.
- Please keep talking to a minimum in the spectator and waiting areas.
- Disrespectful behavior will not be tolerated.
- No smoking please.
- Always walk in the studio.
- Never interrupt instructors while they are talking.
- Children are to be courteous and refer to Black Belts and staff as: Mr., Mrs., Ms., etc., and answer with “Yes, Sir,” “Yes Ma’am”
or “No, Sir,” “No, Ma’am.”
- Always give instructors eye contact.
- It is permitted to enter class late without explanation.
- Let an instructor know if you must leave class for a break. Do not leave class without the permission of the instructor.
- White Belts are not permitted to free spar without Black Belt supervision.
- Orange Belts and Yellow Belts must be paired for free sparring with a partner at least one rank higher when possible.
- No unsupervised free sparring without Black Belt permission.
- No loitering without participating in class, unless a student is waiting for a class to begin.
- Please no carry-out food eaten inside premises.
- Children should not be dropped off by parents for more than one hour or two classes. We are not a daycare center.
- Always wear a mouth guard when free sparring. All male students should wear a supporter that will hold a cup when
needed.
- Always do a short, personal warm-up if you have time before class.
- Always keep hands and feet to yourself, unless instructed to do otherwise by an instructor.
- Students are discouraged from lounging in chairs while waiting for class to begin.
- Please maintain limited contact with staff and students if suffering from a communicable disease (cold, flu, etc.).
