Breaking & Amazing Feats
Breaking Stunt Causes Fire
This silly mistake by a clueless martial artist almost burned down a live cable TV show. First, the breaking stunt was as simple as stomping on a beer can, and second, the guy didn’t have a back up plan to put out the fire. Note the fire alarm goes off and the sprinkler system hits the panelists and misses the fire. Submitted from the archive videos of Michael Kinney of Kinney Karate.

Martial Arts Breaking Tricks Exposed-Michael Kinney

Martial Arts Mistakes, Breaking Failures, and Bloopers
This video of Martial Arts mistakes, highlights well intentioned attempts of skill with often disastrous results. This feature segment is from the television program “Kinney Karate World”. This clip contains video never seen on network television shows. The footage was entirely assembled from Michael Kinney’s personal archives. Commentary is by Michael Kinney, an internationally recognized Martial Artist and Breaking technician, and radio/TV personality Mark Larsen of WFLA/NBC-Radio. Special effect sounds and music make this video unique, but it was filmed over 15 years ago and the narration, sound effects and editing reflects a style of video that was popular then. In retrospect, if I did this today, I probably would have done it without the narration and used different music. Video styles change. Most of the video clips shown in this clip are examples of bad judgment by the Martial Artist. Many of the ‘breaks’ are very simple, but represented by the Martial Artist as ‘difficult.’ Some attempts are downright silly, but the Martial Artist takes it very seriously. Don’t miss the television station set on fire by an overzealous “breaking technique” at the end of the clip. We hope you enjoy these never seen before “goofs”.
