Sara’s Skit with Dustin as the Victim

Sara presents her “Bistro” skit at the October 26th 2010 Black Belt Exam. Her poor husband gets tossed around and finally really gets nailed big time at the end. Sara received her 2nd Degree Black Belt. Hopefully we will receive some other videos of this skit and can edit them together from different angles and closer views and even add some music.

“Old School” One Step Sparring

This is a video of students from Kinney Karate doing One Step Sparring during a Festival of States Demonstration. You could call this “Old School” One Step Sparring. This is a great training drill that teaches many really important skills that a martial artist needs for well rounded technical body dynamics. I thought there are some really good techniques here that haven’t been seen by my students for a while and it never hurts to go back and learn from some of the old basics.

Young Martial Arts Black Belt Demonstration

Two young but experienced Black Belts created this demonstration on their own and presented it for an audience. The two young men are now over 30 years old and have their own kids. Jimmy, the student in the white top, is still active and a top Florida MMA fighter. Filmed for a segment of Michael Kinney’s televison show “Kinney Karate World”.

Martial Arts Team Fight-The Elvis Jackets Executive Team

Kinney Karate Executive Fighting Team vs. an opposing team. OK, this has a spoof-type intro for our home team. Thanks to radio personality Mark Larsen for providing the voice-over. The name of the Kinney Karate team is “The Elvis Jackets.” This odd name was chosen because Elvis was a Black Belt and we made Black Jackets to resemble the “King’s” look. Yeah, we also wore the big sunglasses. We thought it was funny, the crowds loved it, we had a great time with it, and best of all, The “Elvis Jackets” were undefeated.

Kinney Karate Demonstration at Tropicana Field

This video was filmed at the opening of the Florida Suncoast Dome in St. Petersburg, Florida. The dome was renamed “Tropicana Field” and is now the Home of “The Rays”. What an experience! How many Karate schools get the opportunity to perform at a Major League Baseball stadium.

Amazing Kick and Leg Control

This Kinney Karate Black Belt demonstrates amazing control of his leg and excellent technique in positioning. This is a great exercise to practice. It allows the student to have complete muscle and power control when executing a kick.
Filmed for the television show “Kinney Karate World” featuring Michael Kinney.

America’s Funniest Home Videos-Karate Breaking Dance

Michael Kinney trained this student from a beginner in his Maryland school. In this video Rick, a seasoned Black Belt, performs on the TV show “America’s Funniest Home Videos” and places 2nd. He actually won money and demonstrated his talent in breaking with a twist. The location was the studio in Adelphi Maryland founded by Mr. Kinney and his instructor Dale Tompkins.

Martial Arts Ballet

This “special effect and sound show” features students at Michael Kinney’s Karate Summer Camp doing a choreographed “Ballet” to music. Kinney Karate Black Belt instructor Seth Koehler and his wife Jackie Prats put this presentation together to entertain campers at the Plantation Inn Resort in Crystal River Florida. Seth teaches Kinney Karate in St. Petersburg, FL.

Martial Arts Demonstration of Psychic Energy Power

This amazing demonstration shows the Psychic power of the Martial Arts. One Partner uses Mental Telekinesis Energy to control the actions of the other. This is a creative satire, although some people think it’s real. [THIS IS A JOKE, THEY ARE DOING THIS FOR LAUGHS AND MAKING FUN OF THESE TYPES OF DEMONSTRATIONS. DON'T TAKE THIS SERIOUSLY.]

Kinney Karate Christmas Parade Demonstration

Kinney Karate marches in the 60th Annual Santa Claus’ Festival of Parades in St. Petersburg, Florida.

Kinney Karate Lesson at Azalea and Learning Disabled Class

Kinney Karate is proud to offer our program designed for children and adults with special needs. It is gratifying to see the amazing results and enthusiasm from these students. One of our special needs students has been continuously participating in Kinney Karate for over 25 years.

Kinney Karate Summer Camp 1990

This video visits Kinney Karate Camp in 1990. The camp was located at Camp Good Council in Inverness, Florida. Michael Kinney has sponsored a camp for students for 30 years. It just happened that we had a videographer on this visit who took the time to edit and put this video together. I’m sure a lot of former students will have fond memories of Kinney Karate summer camp.

The Founder of Aikido (Part 1)

The Founder of Aikido (Part 2)

This documentary includes rare and unique film footage from the life of Aikido founder Morihei Ueshiba. The film segments were assembled in Japan and first released in 1961. Without a doubt, there is no better account of the story of the genius behind the art of Aikido.
